Spring and stuff
So, it seems that spring is in full bloom, and everything is greening out nicely. Our garden is planted, and my wife has flowers in hanging pots, in beds, and anywhere else she can find a place to put them.
Of course, now this means watering, and a drip system is a great way to water your plants without wasting a precious resource, or incuring a bigger than normal water bill, if you're not on a well. We use the zoned automatic timer systems you can find in the hardware stores or online, like this or maybe here. Plus, since it's a set and forget (for the most part, anyway) you get to spend more time doing other things than draggin hoses all over creation!
Speaking of other things, how about getting out on the trails this spring? Did you know that Prescott has over 50 miles of public access trail network? Almost all are multi-use, so whether you prefer hiking, MTB, or horseback, there is something for you. Just keep the elevation in mind, take plenty of liquid, and enjoy!
I've been getting back on my MTB lately, after meeting up (purely on accident) a group of guys riding the trails every Thursday night. Of course, I hold a steady last place position, but hey, it's better than sitting around going comatose, right??
And with spring comes outdoor cooking!! YES! Not that winter here really stops me, but it's always nice to cook outdoors, enjoying the sunset and keeping the heat outside. And who doesn't like fire roasted anything? From burgers and dogs, to corn on the cob, grilled asparagus, even desert foods like grilled fruit, it's a common event at our home.
